Crime Stoppers is a civilian-run program that adopts a three part approach to solving crime. Its key success factors involve participation from the media, the police, and the community. It is a community-based service, which enables members of the general public to anonymously provide information about unsolved crimes, and to receive rewards of up to $1,000 when an arrest is made.
